Strengthening a global marketing team to lead strategic transformation
Inside senior team development at a global consumer business
As part of a wider organisational shift toward greater global integration, a multinational consumer brand brought together senior marketing leaders from across regions and functions.
The ambition was clear: to connect local markets and global strategy through a leadership team capable of operating with alignment, pace, and influence.
Each member brought significant experience and deep functional expertise. The next step was to establish shared rhythm and clarity across the group – to support consistent leadership at the centre of the function.We began by holding in-depth 1:1 conversations with team members to understand how they were working together, where energy was flowing, and where progress felt harder to sustain.
Creating space
The team was still early in its collective development, with strong one-to-one relationships but limited opportunities so far to contract shared expectations or build a common operating rhythm.
We designed and facilitated a multi-day offsite to give the team space to connect, reflect, and focus on how they were working together. The session supported the development of team habits around communication, decision-making, and shared ownership – creating the foundations for a more cohesive and deliberate leadership group.
Clarifying purpose
Through live work and facilitated dialogue, the team began to explore their role not just in terms of output, but in terms of contribution: what they were there to enable, influence, and lead across the wider system.
This helped shift the orientation of the team from individual delivery to shared enterprise leadership. They began to make decisions with greater transparency, engage in challenge more constructively, and coordinate their efforts with greater clarity.
Supporting individual development
Alongside the team work, we provided targeted 1:1 sessions to individual leaders to support their personal growth and embed key shifts into their day-to-day practice.
We also worked closely with the team to help shape the evolving tone and cadence of the group; ensuring expectations were clear, leadership was distributed, and momentum was sustained.
