Dr. Sally Bonneywell

Sally is an executive coach and consultant, supporting organisations on a variety of development initiatives such as designing and delivering leadership development programmes through to resolving key systemic challenges using innovative coaching methods. Alongside this, Sally also conducts academic research, is Lead Coach on the IMD Executive MBA Programme in Lausanne, Switzerland and is a regular speaker at conferences across the globe.

Sally has international, cross-sector experience working with clients in industries such as telecoms, financial services, pharmaceuticals, consumer, utilities, oil and gas, education and the military. Prior to establishing her own business, she founded and led the Coaching CoE at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Here, she was accountable for setting the global coaching strategy and leading a team of 12 full-time, internal coaches, 1200 `Job Plus’ coaches and an external network of over 250 fully vetted and approved external executive coaches.

 

At GSK, her Accelerating Difference initiative was recognised as outstanding in addressing the ratio of female leaders in leadership teams and enabling more rapid progression of women to senior executive positions. In 2016, GSK Coaching received the International Coach Federation (ICF) International Prism Award for Global Excellence and Sally was recognised as Internal Coaching Person of the Year by the publication ‘Coaching at Work’. Prior to setting up the Coaching function, she was VP Leadership and Organisation Development. She also held other executive development and OD positions during her 20 years at GSK.

She holds a Doctorate in Coaching from the International Centre for Coaching at Oxford Brookes University, an MBA, and a degree in Psychology & Anthropology. She has the NTL Organisation Development Certificate and is accredited to Professional Certified Coach level with the ICF. She is also an Ashridge accredited Supervisor and works with coaches and organisation development consultants.
