Dr. Sally Bonneywell
Sally is an independent Executive Coach and Leadership Development Consultant who runs her own company, working with clients in industries ranging from education, pharmaceuticals, retail, utilities, oil and gas and the military.
She is Lead Coach on the IMD Executive MBA Programme in Lausanne, Switzerland where she is also Lead Coach on client specific initiatives. Sally consults with organisations on a variety of development solutions including designing and delivering leadership development programmes as well as how to resolve key systemic challenges using coaching in a variety of innovative ways. She also conducts academic research in the real world of industry and is a regular speaker at research and general conferences across the globe.
Prior to establishing her own business, she founded and led the Coaching Centre of Excellence at GlaxoSmithKline where she was accountable for setting the strategy for coaching globally and leading a team of twelve internal full-time coaches and over twelve hundred `Job Plus’ coaches. Additionally, she managed an external network of over two hundred and fifty fully vetted and approved external executive coaches across the globe, coaching individual executives herself up to Board level as well as leading systemic organisational initiatives using coaching to address key issues.
One such initiative, Accelerating Difference has been recognised as outstanding in addressing the ratio of female leaders in leadership teams and enabling more rapid progression of women to senior executive positions. In 2016 GSK Coaching received the International Coach Federation (ICF) International Prism Award for Global Excellence and Sally was recognised as Internal Coaching Person of the Year by the publication Coaching at Work.
Prior to setting up the Coaching function, she was VP Leadership and Organisation Development which entailed conducting needs analysis and then designing the strategic development requirements based on the strategic needs of the company. She also held other Executive Development and Organisation Development positions during her 20 years at GSK.
She holds a Doctorate in Coaching from the International Centre for Coaching at Oxford Brookes University, an MBA, and a degree in Psychology and Anthropology. She has the NTL Organisation Development Certificate and is accredited to Professional Certified Coach level with the ICF. She is also an Ashridge accredited Supervisor and works with coaches and organisation development consultants.
